How to break out of the self-sabotage cycle 😵💫
One of my biggest lightbulb moments comes from asking this question: ‘What’s one small action you could take today to move you closer to this goal?’
Hey, Creatives!
Have you ever found yourself stuck in a self-sabotage cycle?
After graduating in 2021, I got caught up in the comparison trap
Spending every day wondering if I was ever going to achieve my goals
Feeling lost and stuck in the same place
Until I realised I was investing all my time in learning new skills
And forgetting to invest in one key area:
My mindset.
Whenever I’m working with creatives, we do a deep dive into their goals and whether their current actions align with the outcome they seek.
But one of the biggest lightbulb moments comes from asking this question:
‘What’s one small action you could take today to move you closer to this goal?’
Small actions can look like:
💌 Send a DM to a potential client
👩🏻💻 Write that first LinkedIn post and share it
👋🏻 Reach out to someone who could become a mentor/ critical friend
Over time, it’s the compounding effect of these small actions that moves you closer to these goals.
And small actions help you to break down those limiting beliefs.
Creative News - What’s In & What’s Out🗞️
We’re mixing up our weekly news updates by spilling the tea on what’s in and what’s out this week. Sometimes brands miss the mark and we’re going to share our favourite and least favourite campaigns of the week.

What’s In: Going back to your design roots: The power of sketching and graphic design
Julia Wand, an illustration and graphic design graduate from Münster School of Design in Germany, seamlessly blends these two disciplines in her work. She believes illustration and graphic design are deeply interconnected. "When working on illustration projects with text, understanding typography and design rules is invaluable," she explains. Conversely, she enjoys incorporating illustrated elements into design-heavy projects, drawing on her knowledge of visual composition and colour theory.
We love the hand-drawn approach to these designs and Julia’s focus on sketching to create a unique and charming style in her work.
We’re on the fence: Brands are jumping on Brat Summer but they’re not as green as you think
Just when we thought 'Brat Summer' was ending, Charli XCX has reignited the trend that took over social media and fashion since her album 'Brat' dropped in June.
Rumours are swirling about her involvement in the upcoming London Fashion Week (LFW), potentially in collaboration with retail giant H&M. Hours after H&M wiped its Instagram, leaving only the date "12092024" and a neon green logo, speculation grew that their autumn/winter 2024 collection will drop on September 12, the first day of LFW. All signs point to a major fashion moment ahead.
However, is H&M’s newest campaign a distraction from their greenwashing activities and should we trust the celebrities collaborating with these brands?
