The last episode of Confessions of a Creative 🫢
I can't believe that this is the last episode of Confessions of a Creative this year! Let's celebrate 50 episodes of COAC 🎊
Hey, Creative!
I can’t believe this is the last episode of Confessions of a Creative in 2024 🫢
For the last 50 weeks, we’ve shared our favourite creative campaigns, creative job opportunities and more.
I’ve worked with 5 amazing freelancers from our community this year to bring Studio Self-Made’s projects to life and I’m excited to invite more talented creatives to collaborate with us next year!
I can’t wait to sit down with a good cup of coffee and a big piece of paper later this week to plan out 2025 and what our goals are for next year.
I hope that you have enjoyed reading this weekly creative industry update and you will continue to be a part of our community next year!
Now let’s get into our final creative news update of 2024 🎊
Creative News - What’s In & What’s Out🗞️
We’re mixing up our weekly news updates by spilling the tea on what’s in and what’s out this week. Sometimes brands miss the mark and we’re going to share our favourite and least favourite campaigns of the week.
What’s In: Agua de Madre: A Drink That Nourishes Body and Soul has a brand refresh
Agua de Madre, a sparkling water kefir brewed in small batches in London, is more than just a refreshing beverage. Naturally low in sugar and packed with billions of live cultures, it’s a gut health champion with a unique purpose. Its name, meaning “water of the mother,” pays tribute to the fermentation “mother” culture—and to mothers everywhere.
Founder Nicola Hart launched Agua de Madre in 2017 to create a drink that nurtures both people and communities. True to this mission, the brand donates 1% of its profits to female-focused charities annually.
For its rebrand, Nicola partnered with adam&eveDDB to craft a product that appeals across generations. Creative director Chris Chapman balanced refreshing updates with beloved elements of the existing branding, ensuring a smooth transition.
We love the vibrant colours, this rebrand oozes positive energy and captures attention with ease.
We’re on the fence: Steven Bartlett under scrutiny for sharing misinformation
A BBC World Service investigation has alleged that Diary of a CEO host and Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett is amplifying harmful health misinformation. The BBC reviewed 23 health-focused episodes, finding 15 that contained an average of 14 disputed health claims each. Scientists have criticised Bartlett for rarely challenging guests, warning that such discussions risk steering listeners away from evidence-based medicine.
Flight Studio, Bartlett’s production company, defended the podcast, emphasising guest "freedom of expression" and highlighting that the BBC had reviewed only a small selection of nearly 400 episodes.
As the podcast industry in the UK is not regulated by Ofcom, no broadcasting rules have been broken. The investigation raises broader questions about accountability in the rapidly expanding podcast space.
