Hey, Creative!
I’m writing this week’s newsletter from the most dreamy library in London. I love finding new places to sit down with my laptop and feel inspired 😍
If you’re ever in London, I recommend checking out The Wellcome Library near Euston Station.
I thought this would be the perfect time to fill you in on everything that’s coming soon to Studio Self-Made.
Over the last 10 months, I’ve been mentoring 15 creative freelancers and founders and developing a bank of resources and frameworks to support them to build their personal brands, attract opportunities and establish as sustainable creative career.
But there was one thing that was missing from the support I was offering.
Community.
A way to connect with other creatives, learn from each other and collaborate.
There is so much value in learning from others and keeping each other accountable.
That’s why I’ve been working on creating a group mentoring programme that could offer this and so much more.
I’ll be sharing more with you over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for our next episode for more information!
Creative News - What’s In & What’s Out🗞️
We’re mixing up our weekly news updates by spilling the tea on what’s in and what’s out this week. Sometimes brands miss the mark and we’re going to share our favourite and least favourite campaigns of the week.

What’s In: Up-and-coming Chinese artist Oliver Li shares his love for nature through his beautiful illustrations
Oliver Li is an emerging artist gaining attention for his distinctive style. His artwork is marked by a lively palette, with a strong emphasis on blues and greens. The soft, fuzzy textures he employs give his pieces a cosy, almost touchable quality that draws viewers in.
We love the calming energy of these illustrations, the texture Li uses brings the images to life and gives them a tactile feeling that absorbs you into the image.
What’s out: Pretending that social media doesn’t impact our mental health
Maybelline’s latest campaign has taken a different approach to beauty marketing. Their latest campaign focuses on the impact social media can have on the way we feel about the way we look. Comparing ourselves to others, unable to enjoy moments with friends and family as become consumed by self-criticism.
As creatives, we often have to use social media to connect with potetinal customers, clients and opportunties. Campaigns like this highlight how we need to be honest about the impact social media can have on our mental health and how we can encourage conversations about this so we feel less alone.
I’d love it if you could share this newsletter with your creative friends so they can get the inside scoop on the creative industries.
